Police arrested two car thieves Monday night in separate cases.
At 9:24 PM, Officer Lloyd White conducted a traffic stop for an alleged vehicle code violation. The driver and passenger, Mia Robbins and Christine Ayoub, respectively, were also accompanied by a child, Robbins’ six year-old son, police said.
The vehicle was reported stolen from Fullerton and as White continued his investigation he found forged $100 bills, narcotics, and stolen property.
The child was returned to a responsible family member after Orange County Social Services was contacted, police said.
The pair were arrested on suspicion of auto theft, possession of a controlled substance, receipt of stolen property, and child neglect/abuse.
Later that night, at 11:51 PM, Cpl Mike Bova and Officer Siliceo were dispatched to the AM/PM located 1000 W. Valencia Avenue. They were responding to a male subject that had locked himself in the bathroom.
They arrived to find Jason Banning unconscious. Medics were called and Banning was transported to St. Jude Medical Center.
Siliceo located narcotics, narcotics paraphernalia, and the ID and other personal effects of an elderly female resident of Fullerton, according to police reports.
Bova contacted the woman and was informed she had been the victim of an auto burglary.
Banning was later arrested and charged with burglary, receipt of stolen property, possession of narcotic paraphernalia, and for being under the influence of a controlled substance.
