Officers detain dangerous subject with multiple arrest warrants

By Anthony F. Irwin

Officer Michael Greene and his Field Training Officer Josh Earnest conducted a vehicle stop at 1100 N. Lemon St. and discovered the driver with several questionable objects.

A search through Monique Flores’ (29) vehicle uncovered a switchblade knife, methamphetamine and other narcotics, a replica Colt 1911 handgun – hidden under the driver seat – and five checkbooks; none of which belonged to Flores.

Through further investigation, it was discovered the checkbooks were stolen from a citizen in Brea.

Flores also had two warrants for her arrest for traffic violations.

Officials commended Greene and Earnest for solid and proactive investigative reports.

Corporal to have hand in homeless liaison training

Officials are proud of Cpl John DeCaprio for making a lasting impact on future relations between law enforcement and transients.

Fullerton PD’s own homeless liaison DeCaprio was joined by Deputy Robert Pequeno of the Orange County Sheriff Department to impart the knowledge he’s amassed in his 10 years working in delta position, which encompasses work as homeless liaison.

Pequeno will then take those lessons as he trains his fellow OCSD deputies on how to handle the considerable homeless population in the area.
